I have always felt the most satisfaction and inner peace through being of service to others, particularly as a Peace Corps volunteer working with children in Central Asia. I appreciate the opportunity to utilize my Performing Arts Teaching Degree to create art and music when working with kids. I have experience with ages six months to sixteen years old. I also receive so much benefit as a caregiver helping my elders increase their quality of life. I am so inspired listening to all they have experienced in their life, their challenges and their joys. In addition, my excellent organizational skills are an important asset in my personal assistance work. When I am in a position of assisting others it helps me cultivate valuable positive qualities in myself: patience, compassion, mindfulness, and gratitude.

  • I am certified with a national organization called “Trustline”. This is an agency that runs background checks and fingerprints on childcare and eldercare providers. You can call the Trustline Hotline Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm at 1-800-822-8490, please e-mail me first and I will give you my identification number. I encourage you to click on this link to review their website: http://www.trustline.org/
  • I am trained in Compassionate Communication (N.V.C. by Marshall Rosenberg) and relate to your children and elders based upon this wonderful model. For an introduction to N.V.C., click here.
  • I am Infant/Child C.P.R. and Choking Certified

TESTIMONIALS:

“Caregiving is an art and a science and Rachel has been excellent in both. She has accomplished juggling her primary responsibility (grandma) with providing physical and emotional sustenance to all three of us in this household during the work week. My mom is 100% safe with Rachel so I can go to work fulfilled and with peace of mind. Also she provides proactive trusted team leadership through anecdote, suggestion and dialoging, which helps me grow. She continues to advance her skills in balancing practical care with an altruistic heart. Rachel has learned from my mom, I have learned from Rachel, and so forth and so on. We all continue to grow with awareness, analysis and flexibility, The one truism about the caregiving relationship is that while it must always be there, it never stays the same.”
-Wendy Stephens, Eldercare Client

“Every parent wants peace of mind when one is away from their child.  Knowing that Cayden is with Rachel gives me the peace and freedom I need to get what I need done. I don’t ever have to worry if he is ok — I trust in my heart that my baby is in good hands when he is with Rachel.  She is gentle, mindful and respectful — all great qualities that my son can model.   Thanks Rachel — for all that you are and all that you do!  We really appreciate your love and care.”
