| It is my passion to empower youth and elders about integrating holistic health and systems into everyday modern life. I feel very fortunate for all the connections I have made with clients past and present. Each one has been a unique and enriching gift full of challenges and fun.My spirituality centers around my connection with nature, and my primary spiritual practice is taking advantage of the amazing natural settings in Marin county. Since 2006 I have attended a yearly session of the Northern California Women’s Herbal Symposium.
After completing my undergraduate degree in health sciences in 2002, I worked in holistic health care followed by a two-year stint as a residential counselor at a group home in Novato for children ages six to twelve. During this time I moved to Fairfax and in 2005 I began working with local businesses and with families in the community doing childcare and landscaping. I also served as a caregiver for a blind epileptic and mentally disabled elder who needed assistance with cooking, bathing and transfers to and from his wheelchair. I worked with Marin Conservation Corps from 2006 to 2009 as a Project Regeneration team supervisor doing habitat restoration and environmental education.
I also volunteer regularly with various environmental groups and integrate environmental consciousness into my work as often as possible. |
